Are You A Good Person?

The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul:

the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.

Psalm 19:7 The dictionary says that “good” is to be “morally” excellent.

Let’s check the Standard - the Ten Commandments - to see how far we fall short.

  1. Is God first in your life? Do you love Him with “heart, mind, soul and strength?”
  2. Have you made a god to suit yourself?
  3. Have you used His name in vain?
  4. Have you kept the Sabbath holy?
  5. Have you honored your parents?
  6. Have you ever hated anyone, and therefore committed murder in your heart?
  7. Have you ever looked with lust and therefore committed adultery in your heart?
  8. Have you ever told a lie (including “fibs”)
  9. Have you ever stolen anything (the value is irrelevant)?
  10. Have you ever coveted other people’s possessions?

Having answered each question - will you be innocent or guilty when you stand before God in Judgment?

If you are honest with yourself, then you know that you will be guilty on the Day of Judgment.  God however, does not want to send you to Hell.  Jesus Christ suffered and died on the Cross, so that you could go free.  That is how much God loves you.  Each of us has broken God’s holy law, but the Lord Jesus Christ paid our fine.  Then He rose from the grave and defeated death!

If you will exercise "repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ," God will forgive your sins and grant you everlasting life (Acts 20:21).
